Enterprise Town Award Judges Visit Cootehill

Thursday last, the 7th of September, CavMac Industrial Hose Manufacturers was overjoyed to join several local businesses, representing Cootehill’s bid in the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town Award. The Bank of Ireland judging panel: Tom Hayes, Eddie Breen and Tim O’Neill commenced their visit by touring the town, local businesses and experiencing it’s warm hospitality.

Following the tour, a demonstration of all supporting businesses and community groups respective products and services showcased at Cootehill’s ultra-modern Technology & Enterprise Centre for the panel. Both CavMac and Abcon had exhibitions at the event, in which the judges were keenly interested. Even with the harsh weather conditions on the day, we succeeded in keeping our outdoor stall standing tall with the continued help from all our staff on site.

Businesses attendees ranged from Carleton Cakes, five-time winners of the Irish Great Taste Awards, to our neighbours PQE sporting one of their bespoke fabricated chassis used in Agricultural and material handling machinery.

We must all now patiently wait for the results announcement this November. The overall winner will enjoy a prize fund of €23,000 to be spent within the community courtesy of Bank of Ireland, along with a perpetual trophy and the sought after title of Ireland’s Most Enterprising Town. Here’s hoping we impressed the judges enough to warrant a deserving win for Cootehill.
